Vacations & Summertime Sadness 2014

I haven't been on here in too long! Since last summer I have been to Salt Lake with my two best friends where we all got matching tattoos. This was followed by a trip to Las Vegas before the fall semester of school started where my family stayed at Bellagio. Christmas time came around and I finally got to decorate my own Christmas tree with peacock decorations of deep purple, green & teal. Well, since last January is where I'll start..

My family took a trip to Disneyland as a Christmas gift. It was so special! None of us had ever seen Disneyland as they do it in winter. It's amazing! If you haven't been in the Christmas season, you need to go then!
There was a firework show every night that included man-made snow and the smell of 'Christmas' in the air. A trip to Disneyland, needless to say, is never disappointing. I have been several different times to the park and I have never not been excited.
The Hauted Mansion was still decorated (dice Halloween time) as The Nightmsre Before Christmas. I was so excited about this because I absolutely love Tim Burton films, especially The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was able to get the Jack & Sally characters to sign my book. My favorite ride in Californa Adventure would have to be the Screamin' roller coaster (I think it's called), and the Tower of Terror; both of which I rode multiple times using Disney Fast Passes. The new Cars attraction was another favorite of mine.
I can't forget Universal Studios! This is another must-see around Christmas Time. We were only there for one day (which is plenty of time if you get there early & use their version of fast passes). On the day we were there part of the park was transformed into Whoville and all the characters were dressed as Whos, and there is more fake snow and good smells and music all around. The Grinch & mayor were in attendance taking pictures with everyone. The Christmas tree was truly one of Whoville style; the lights changed with the music while Whos' danced underneath. ❤ Need I say more? You just have to go and see it for yourself! Oh, and while you are there make sure to ride the Jurassic Park ride, the Mummy, and the new Simpsons ride.

Then came my 21st birthday on January 24th!

That summer my friends & I took our (3rd?) annual Salt Lake City trip. It was pretty funny because the hotel we were staying at was almost completely booked and we saw a lot of young, wild & frees running around.. Turns out that it was for an Alcoholics Anonymous group called SWACYPAA.
We spent some time by the pool, shopping, and in the nightlife scene. It was a blast!

That summer also involved a few floating trips, weddings, and family time.

The summer finished off with a family vacation to Fladhead Lake in Montana. My family has been here on other time before, and we came back because the lake is so beautiful. We always try to rent a house for the space and ability to cook for ourselves. This year our house was right on the lake!!
We were able to go kayaking for a day, jet skiing, and plenty of time just sunning in our tubes.

I was so sad for summer to be over. But, fall semester started, and this is my fourth year at ISU!! I'm so happy to finally see myself making progress and reaching my goals. I have the best support from family, friends, & loved ones.
